Laser beam shaping in an apodizer with a rectangular serrated aperture
نویسندگان
چکیده
Profile transformation of a uniform monochromatic beam with flat wavefront after the propagation through an apodizer comprising square serrated aperture and spatial filter is theoretically considered at exit behind it. Main differences from case circular geometry are shown. Roles angles, phase in Fresnel diffraction, shape serrations serration height-to-period ratio analyzed.

Laser Beam Shaping with Membrane Deformable Mirrors
The performance of laser machining systems can often be improved by adjusting the intensity profile of the beam on the target. Shaping a laser intensity profile can be efficiently accomplished by adjusting the spatial phase of the beam before propagating the beam a distance to the target. Beam shaping can be accomplished with passive diffractive elements, but this technique is only capable of c...
متن کاملElectromagnetic Pulse Coupling inside a Rectangular Enclosure with an Aperture
The transmission line matrix time domain (TLM-TD) method is used to simulate the electromagnetic pulse (EMP) coupled inside a shielding box with an aperture. Simulations for different electromagnetic pulses regarding to different rise time and fall time have been performed. The results for shielding effectiveness of these different excitations have been presented. A simple method that uses an e...
متن کاملLaser beam-quality/aperture-shape scaling relation.
Many high-energy lasers (HELs) have noncircular output apertures. Some are rectangular in shape with or without a central or noncentral (up to 30%) obscuration. However, most high-energy laser propagation codes (especially those developed for systems analysis) model the aperture as either an unobscured circle or as a circle with fixed (e.g., 10%) obscuration. We present a beam-quality/aperture-...

An overview of the history and current practices of laser beam shaping is presented. When diffraction effects are not important, geometrical methods for laser beam shaping (ray tracing, conservation of energy within a bundle of rays, and the constant optical path length condition) can be used to determine system configurations, including aspheric elements and spherical-surface GRIN lenses, whic...
